Another slight downside to the pack is the top “brain” of the backpack is not removable. I often like to remove my backpack top as I find it unnecessary weight/organization. The shoulder straps are lightly padded and fully adjustable for comfortably carrying lighter loads. The padding on the back and shoulders is light, but it’s more than enough for such a small backpack. It has the same comfort, usability, and suspension but with a female-specific fit and design. The key features of both the models are same such as Anti-Gravity system, high-quality fabric, pocket layouts, and attachment points for ice ax, trekking poles and sleeping bag.
Travelers who want to do a combo of travel and light hiking. This Osprey Talon 33 review is going to show you why this backpack is awesome. I’ll also take a look at a few things that aren’t so great about it.
The Exos 58 was Osprey’s original take on an ultralight pack (also offered in 38- and 48-liter capacities) and is still one of our favorites in this category. Since its debut, the design has been fine-tuned with a more supportive suspension system and hipbelt, and importantly, Osprey also released a women’s-specific Eja version. Both models offer good carrying comfort and features for ounce counters and thru-hikers at well under 3 pounds. We recently tested the smaller Aerios 30 on several day hikes in Patagonia and were blown away by the thoughtful design and high-quality finishes. Many thru-hikers will add fanny packs or other front storage to their setups, but the Aerios comes ready to go and requires no further customization. In fact, after experiencing the merits of the body-hugging suspension and convenient on-the-go access, we found it hard to transition back to a standard pack.
Also, the main compartment has a large pocket to help you organize your things for travel. There are stretchy mesh pockets on the sides of the backpack where you can place a bottle from sideways or from the top. Stow-on-the-go feature provides easy carrying and quick attachment of the trekking poles while wearing the pack. The sheer comfort and usability of Atmos 65 AG make it the best hiking backpack for men hikers and world-travelers. Yes, Osprey backpacks are made of durable nylon material that’s covered by their lifetime guaranty.
They also make a 40L size for those of you that are even more minimalistic in traveling than we are. The waist strap that I talked about briefly above comes with a standard buckle system but the chest strap uses a magnetic clasp. I was really concerned about this being magnetic but haven’t had any problems at all with it coming undone. There is additional room in this dedicated pocket around the bladder but I haven’t had to use it yet as the other pockets are also quite large. The longer you hike the more you realize what is important in what you pack and the pack itself. When I first started, I had a small pack and it was overflowing with stuff I didn’t need.
